"Uhalja Iyoin" is a traditional Paiwan song collected at the village of Piyuma in 2002 by my teacher, Djanav Zengror.
It's a song of self-introduction and tells the background of the singer. A real song of pride.
Translation: I am Paiwan, from the height of height, from Tjagaraus Mountain where gods reside. Paiwan, one of a kind, worthy of respect and worthy of offerings. 我是來自大武山的排灣族，至高之地，神居之地。排灣族啊，獨一無二，值得尊敬，值得崇拜。
Tjagaraus is also known as Kavulungan (the Real Old One). It refers to the Dawu Mountain in the south of Taiwan where the ancestors of Paiwan people live in spirits. It is their source of life.
