Paiwan Every Day 25: angata

Today it's only us kids. Our teacher has gone back to his village for the long weekend, and several of us who stayed in the city met for the Paiwan class.

We listened to previous presentations, attempted to identify and write down the words, phrases, sentences, and discussed among ourselves their grammar and usage. It turned out to be so enlightening besides entertaining.

Glossary:

1. ma-leva: happy. ma- 'stative'; the root is leva 'joy, happiness'. l<em>eva, actor voice (AV) is also used by sekacedas a paiwan Paiwan from the east.
2. angata: truly, indeed
3. aken: I. 1st person singular nominative
4. ta-sauni: just now. The root is sauni. kasauni is also used. In Paiwan, ta- and ka- are interchangeable; both are prefixes for past tense. 
5. masalu: thank you. maljimalji is also used. 
6. aravac: very
7. ma-puljat: everyall, all. The root is puljat 'all'.
