Paiwan Every Day 178: izainu

izainu a nu pupangudraljan?

In English:
Where is your pineapple field?

Glossary:
  1. izainu: compound (izai or izi in Raleigh Ferrell which means to be erect, standing + inu which means where. together, izainu means where is (something) standing or lcoated. it seems to have a stronger nuance of the location than inu, but this is to be confirmed.
  2. a: case marker for the nominative
  3. nu: your, plural, genitive
  4. pupangudraljan: the root is pangudralj (pineapple). pu- the prefix means to have many; -an the affix indicates the location; together, pu-pangudralj-an means a location/place that has many pineapples, therefore a pineapple field or garden.
